IE vs Z-Index
Submitted by Serge on Fri, 06/19/2009 - 01:42Tags:
Every browsers bugs blog has an article about z-index bug in Internet Explorer. But it takes time to get what you really need to know about it. To get it right you first have to know what is z-index. Second, when working with IE compatibility just remember that this browser (6th, 7th) looks not at the z-index of the element you deal with, but at the element container's z-index. For example, there are two divs with the images inside each of them. Setting the z-index to the images won't make any sense for IE, but setting it to the divs certainly will. That's it.

Events handling

Well, almost every website needs news section both with events. And it's cool to have it nicely connected with dates or calendar . Or maybe you need all website content to interact with the calendar.
All that stuff is easy enough. Drupal + Date, Calendar, Views and CCK modules - that's the starting point. Check this: http://drupaltherapy.com/date to get it right.

Multimedia & Drupal

When it comes to community art sites, Drupal is a great match. No other platform provides the rock solid foundation that is needed to make multimedia rich websites that allow users to share, distribute, rate, and discuss their work with others of similar interest. As time goes on, Drupal will only develop stronger support for audio, video, images, and playlist content for use in multimedia applications.(other drupal case studies)
CVS For Themers

Recently I've visited Mustardseedmedia.com and found a podcast about CVS access there.
I've recollected all the vain attempts while uploading something to Drupal.org for the first time or if you are just not familiar with CVS.
There are plenty of utils for work with CVS available but what is really handy is SmartCvs.
So, all you need is to spend 10 minutes on this video.

You've already guessed that the blog has just begun its existence. My name is Serge and I'm the author of it.
The future of this blog deals with different topics, and the majority of them will be connected with Drupal, theming but not only. I don't think all the topics will be interesting for everyone but I do hope to keep it as much informative and simple as it is possible.
So, I am really glad you're reading this stuff. Come back here sometimes or use my RSS feed.
